Robinson Electric Supply opened its first location in June 1975 in Meridian, Mississippi. Robinson Electric quickly became established and known as a leader in the wholesale electrical distribution industry. The company was founded by W.C "Bud" Robinson, Jr., who had been in the electrical distribution business for nineteen years prior to forming the company that carries his name.

A strong commitment to customer service, awareness of changing requirements in electrical industry, knowledgeable personnel, and competitive pricing is what has made Robinson Electric Supply a success. The leadership of "Bud" and his philosophy of "treating customers right" has attributed to the growth of the company that serves the residential, commercial, and industrial market.

Since opening his first location, seven additional branch offices have been opened in Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and California. The company now employs over 70 people in the various locations.

The future of the company looks toward continued growth. Robinson Electric provides its employees with quality training through programs, various lighting and switchgear seminars that enhance their knowledge and skills in the electrical distribution industry, and education enhancement programs provided by various manufacturers.

Robinson Electric Supply had the distinction of being named #149 of the top 200 electrical distributors in the nation by the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED), of which they have been a member since 1975. In fact, Robinson Electric Supply Co., Inc. has been in the Top 200 for several years.
